40 Candy Free Easter Egg Filler Ideas

Easter egg hunts are fabulous fun but the sugar crash that comes after, not so much. Check out these fun ideas for Easter egg fillers that limit the calories and avoid the cavities that sugar treats cause! Enjoy!

  • Punch Ball Balloons ~ My kids love these silly balloons.  Best part is they come in packs, so you van fill a few eggs.
  • Mini Bottles of Nail Polish ~ Most nail polis bottles will fit, although the mini bottles are just too cute.
  • Silly Putty ~  We love silly putty.  You can stretch it, shape it and bounce it.  Did you know if you press it onto a comic image or words from the newspaper it will leave a print on the putty?  Super cool!
  • Puzzle Pieces ~ Did you know you can buy blank puzzles that you can add your own message too?  Hide one puzzle piece in each egg.  Turn the kids Easter egg hunt into a search to find all the pieces to the puzzle! Just make sure to know where you hide all the eggs.  Nothing worse than getting to the end of a puzzle and finding out your missing a piece.
  • Money ~ This is my kids personal favorite.  Everything from pennies to quarters are fair game.  We mix it up and add a few different coins to each egg.  If you really want to go crazy, slip a few bills into the egg and make it super tricky to find.  This works particularly well with older kids.
  • Barrettes ~ If your girls are anything like mine…they will love this simple option.
  • Plastic Rings and Jewelry ~ Bring out your inner Fancy Nancy and dress things up a bit.  Accessories are the key to any outfit;)
  • Socks ~ Does your washing machine eat socks like ours does?  Seriously, where do all the socks go?
  • Balloons ~ My kids love playing balloon games. The best party, they are super cheap and come in giant packs.
  • LEGO Minifigures ~ My kids LOVE minifigures.  Legos are twice the fun when you have a variety of them to play with.
  • Character Band- aids ~ Because they are fun!  I wish the doctor still game me a bugs bunny band-aid when visit.
  • Mini Glitter Glue ~ Glitter, glitter and more glitter.  Have you tried glitter glue yet?  It gives you all the sparkle of regular glitter, but with out all the mess!  Love it!
  • Finger Puppets ~ Find a cardboard box and put on a fun show for all your friends.
  • Lip Gloss or Chapstick ~ Kids love putting on chapstick and lipgloss.  Our current favorite is the ESO brand.  It comes in a variety of colors and flavors.
  • Bouncy Balls ~ Classic fun…enough said.
  • Stickers ~ Easter themed stickers are just too cute! Did you have a sticker collection growing up?  I did…and spent hours trading stickers with friends.
  • Character Grow Towels ~ You can also pick these up a your local dollar store.
  • Magic Grow Capsules ~ Amaze your kids by simply placing the capsule in water and watching a foam creature emerge in just a few moments.  The best part is, they came in blister packages.  So you can cut them apart and place in a few eggs.
  • Embroidery Floss ~ Perfect for making friendship bracelets.  I love all the crazy colors that are available.  Since they come in a large pack, you can fill lots of eggs!
  • Colorful Hair Ties ~ Can you ever have enough?  We love the Ribbon Elastics by Goody.  They are super cute and come in a variety of fun colors.
  • Party Poppers ~ These are a fun way to celebrate any occasion, or pop them just because there fun.
  • Mini Stampers ~ They make so many fun sets of pre-inked stamps.  The Easter sets are perfect for filling eggs, and creating with later.
  • Earrings ~ My girls love wearing a different pair of earring everyday.  Find all kinds of  adorable see perfect for any occasion.
  • Sticker Earrings ~ A great alternative for kids who don’t have their ears pierced.  They are temporary, sparkly and oh so cute!
  • Finger Lights ~ Create your own fingertip light display with these little lights.  There are so many fun ways to use these lights, and come in a variety of colors.
  • Temporary Tattoos ~ If you are having trouble removing your temporary tattoo, rub with a little olive oil.  This will help loosen the tattoo and make it easier to remove.
  • Mini Bubbles ~ Bubbles are always a hit, we keep a set in the car just incase the bubble “blowing mood” strikes.

  • Gift certificates ~ Did you know you can print gift certificates to most fun kids fun zones and play spaces.  If you are using extra large eggs, you could also hide gift cards to the kids favorite places.
  • Novelty Erasers ~ Kids will love fixing mistakes with unique novelty erasers.  They come in a variety of shapes, colors and many even come with stackable pieces.
  • Pencil Toppers ~ Add a little pizzazz to your boring pencil with adorable Easter toppers.  Homework has never been so fun.
